“Putting this album together was a long process of elimination. Choosing from about 18 songs and a few years of work, I decided to turn away from any computer related cut ups or music made using software. I wanted to keep only those artifacts created out of found equipment and basic electronic devices. This tape was put together with recordings made from tapes, home made synthesizers, vintage drum machines, record players & video game consoles.”

Recorded by Lorenz Peter, 2009 – 2014.
Additional engineering by Kris Helstrom.
Produced by Heiki Sillaste 2015.

Sammy
CR 78, Sequencer, unknown machines.

I was cat sitting. The owner was a collector of vintage gear. He had various old devices off to the side collecting dust, I had no idea how to use them, but they sounded great when I played a CR 78 through them.

Offender 1
Tascam 4-track, Assembler 2 osc synth.

The Assembler was a synth I owned for about 6 months. It may have been a kit, but it was the first one custom built by my friend J. I renamed it The Offender because of it’s bad attitude regarding peoples ears.

Thank You
Atari 2600 Synth Cart, Korg Vocoder.

The Atari was purchased along with the Speak n’Math during a Corpusse recording session in Toronto. The seller needed some money to score some stuff that morning.

Dorchester
Dorchester record player, Pro 1, Korg Vocoder, radio.

I found the Dorchester record player on the street, I was overjoyed because I could once again play Lionel Ritchie records on 16 speed. The record used on this one is a Jive ’82 DJ beats sample LP. Bass is played by Heiki using a Pro 1.

Offender 2
Tascam 4-track, Assembler 2 osc synth.

Electrical Outlet 1 Single osc instrument, Rhythm Ace, Korg Vocoder. The Rhythm Ace was my first music instrument, I used it on many recordings since 1993. The other noise is from a device built for me on my birthday by M Joakim of Processor.
